 Great minds think alike.. was getting fed up with trying to do damage limitation on old kitchen removal. Went to spark up the chainsaw to do a bit of collateral on the units, whilst still attached to the room.. then sense prevailed..

New Kitchen turned up yesterday, had to pile it in because of the rain. Walls ceiling and floor done. Estate agent said it needs brightening up a bit so a big fook off Sputnik on the ceiling along with three pendants over the breakfast bar, a wall light and 15 metres of COB plinth lighting. Should just about be bright enough, just gotta get on and fit the units. Struggling a bit as all my tools except a few odds and sods are in Scotland.

In other news got a “C” energy rating which no one takes notice of apparently. Architect in Scotland is still at it with the building standards application and all is going smoothly at present. Another slight wobble with the planning officer who wanted cream woodwork and larch cladding on the lodge extension. We wobbled him back to anthracite windows, doors woodwork etc and slate grey wood grain cement board cladding.. All fun and games..

Ripped the assessor a new arsehole via his boss, then ripped him one too when he said no one takes any notice of them anyhow.. The thought of upsetting his client and loosing his commission must have made his pen slip.

Note to self.. I must insulate the loft..

Kitchen getting there slowly. You think you turn a corner then another curve ball comes your way. Had to move all the services for the appliances to get them to fit. Heyho.

Managed to source a second hand extractor chimney for £30 collected from East London so no hardship. The old one had been cut down and a new one was over £500! A bit of spit and polish and a few rivets jobs a good’un!

Thanks Mark, not the easiest job tbh.

Out snapping last night.. sunflowers.. not my usual bag. Found a couple of things with engines though which helped.

Stil awaiting the final nod for the building warrant on the lodge, only been 9 months.. In the meantime carried on with some odd jobs around the house and also finalising a kitchen for the lodge. Best time to buy is October for the best deals with Howdens so as I’ve got the space, an early purchase then into storage until needed. Some screen grabs of the open plan living/kitchen. Colours, fine tuning etc yet to be finalised.
