Box Sets - recommends

Postby greenwoo » Tue Feb 25, 2020 3:07 pm

The upside of the various streaming channels is obvs choice, but searching for suitable progs is a flipping pain.
Wonder if anyone would care to through a few suggestions my way of box sets that they'd recommend.

Parameters; Not sci-fi, no subtitles and no 'fantasy' ( well not in that context).
In the past have munched through 24,homeland, breaking bad, weeds, sneaky pete, sopranos etc and with only a season and a cple of episodes to go are most of the way through Vikings.
Had to give up on a few where the accents were so thick that it was a major exercise in concentration to hear what the hell was being said.

So shout out your fav box set suggestions..Ta Muchly

If you use the search function in Netflix and search for, say, Vikings, it shows you that plus a load of other similar programs/films - that's what I do when I've finished one.

The best I've watched recently was 'The Stranger'. Based on a Harlan Coben book (which are all awesome) so it was v. good...

Unfortunately, I normally like the sci-fi and some of the fantasy stuff, so you won't be interested in the rest of my list :D

my favourites Mark is ...Sons of Anarchy.

"Sons of Anarchy, aka SAMCRO, is a motorcycle club that operates both illegal and legal businesses in the small town of Charming. They combine gun-running and a garage, plus involvement in porn film. Clay, the president, likes it old school and violent; while Jax, his stepson and the club's VP, has thoughts about changing the way things are, based on his dead father's journal. Their conflict has effects on both the club and their personal relationships.

American outlaw biker gang. ive seen all 7 series twice over it was that good. Takes about 3 episodes to get you.. Some serious stars in there. Plenty of petrol, birds and beer and every episode leaves you wanting more  8-)

it won a golden globe and many other awards

I have the attention span of a goldfish when it comes to anything that has more than 1 episode on tv, but assume you’ve already watched Peaky Blinders (one of the only things I’ve really got into)

From the earth to the moon. An old one but one of the best, pretty much the whole story.
One is one too many and one too many is never enough.
