Been laid up for a little while, first day today I’ve been able to move about for any length of time. Been wanting to try out a couple of photography ideas on a Blade Runner theme, thought I’d give ‘em a quick go.
First attempt below which started out as just a test to see if the idea had legs, before setting up a mini scenario with studio strobes etc.

Thanks, trial and error Easier to do than explain, hope I don’t bore you.
Found a few blade runner screen backgrounds, selected one.
Got another image of a barcode for the reflection in the glasses changed the barcode colour to suit the background.
Plied swmbo with wine and sat her in front of the tele with all the garb on.
Uploaded the barcode to Flickr and then displayed it on the tele to get the reflection and make the connection between swmbo and the background.
Put a white background behind swmbo as it’s easier to mask and make translucent in photoshop.
Took a few shots using my bounce flash so as not to kill the reflection. Lowered the flash power by a couple of stops which helped.
Adjusted the shot in lightroom to try and give it the same “feel” as the chosen background.
Dropped it into photoshop and made the background around swmbo translucent. Then dropped the screen background behind her.
Put it back into lightroom to adjust the light and shade around swmbo so she looked more integrated into the shot.
Made some global changes to the whole image until I was happy with it.
Then bobs your mothers brother, that’s all there is to it!
First time I’d done something like that, learning as I go, overall quite straightforward, pleased with the result. I’m going to do a couple more when I get the chance, I’ll post them up.

The boss would never let me get away with anything like that.

Interesting effect Mike. I like it. I did think it was all a computer generated image at first.

Thanks Steve, Three images in total, the background which I downloaded, Barcode image, downloaded with a colour change, then swmbo looking at the barcode on the tele. I find it easier to learn Photoshop and Lightroom if I do a little project or two rather than sit through tutorials.
Three images below..
