@ Rich, what TT is it?
Don't despair just yet. I was going to write a post about how bloody brilliant a moderator was on the TT community forums.
Long story short, 2 of mine didnt update properly ( xxl )...one ended up with a map that wouldnt work, and the other ended up with Australia! Anyway, i posted a thread on the Community and the Moderator 'put' 2 maps onto my 'Home' account - both turned out to be from 2015....so well chuffed as the old maps were from 2009!

Re: My Tomtom has lost the plot!
@ Rich, ignore the script on the page. Do you have TT 'Home' on your lappie/pc? if so, just connect the device, and select the 'update' box on the lappie from within TT Home.
It should bring up a few things that are available to update, which may well include a map, software, voices, cameras etc. Tick all the ones you want and let it run.
If all went well that;ll be it. It it didnt, it would prob be the map that failed - it depends on the internal memory size of your device. The new 'full' western europe map is too big for the device, in which case you'd just get an error saying 'Cannot use this map' ( that shows on the device) - at that point you create a thread on that page i linked using your TT Home log in....and then wait for help after explaining why/what happened.
Worst ways, if no reply, PM that guy Vikram that you see in my thread.....he'll pop a different map option 'into' your own Home account and tell you what to do - which is easy ( just means deleting the map that doesnt work first and then reconnecting to Home and downloading whatever he has loaded for you).
My devices spanned from about 2009 to 2012 - and 1 took the update with no issue, so you may be fine anyway!

Cheers Mark, I will have another go tonight, things were a tad tense last night, but having updated both my TT over the years but not for last two years the TT home site seemed different to what I recall.

Re: My Tomtom has lost the plot!
That's a real bonus getting new maps for yours Mark
Richard, when I did mine, Tomtom did seem to give profit of doom warnings all the time. It kept saying my XLs were not supported, but I think all that means is I can't get map updates. Once I installed the sotware update, they were back to normal.
My maps are really old, but fortunately on the sort of roads we drive in the UK thay haven't changed much in centuries, it just gets a bit sketchy on new bypasses around towns

Duncan.
That seems to be what 'not supported' means.
No map or speed camera updates..
But you still get maps share updates from other users.
