When they still surprise you

Spent the day yesterday with our Son Ben who turned 21 on Friday. We had a great day and on the back of the birthday card we had done from Moonpig (see photo) we reminisced about all sorts of memories of him (and us) growing up. Things we’d forgotten and things we’ll never forget!

One of the topics much remembered was the Arctic Trip and Ben reminded me of something quite profound given we were in a car completely open! Ben and I communicated through the intercom via the headsets (as some of you know) and yesterday Ben said that the conversations we had, of which there were many, had been some of the most “bonding” and “informative” conversations we’d ever had! Part of that was because of the headsets the messages felt more “intimate” and “real”.

Two things came from yesterday, my son is a man and not only because he is 21! and I am a very lucky bloke.

No moral to the story or hidden meaning. I just wanted to share.
