TomTom Start 42/52/62 - anyone got one?

Postby SteveRST » Fri Jun 01, 2018 4:07 pm

Yet another TomTom classic has died on me. :?

Looking at a TomTom Start 42 which seems to be a cheaper current-model TomTom that does actually support ITN files (and GPX files).
Halfords is doing the Western Europe maps one for £79. linky.

Anyone got one? Feedback appreciated.
Can you load ITN files on to it OK, or is it a pain in the a$$?

Manual here for anyone interested - The MY ROUTES section is the interesting bit for us. http://download.tomtom.com/open/manuals/start_42_52_62/refman/TomTom-START-EU-RG-en-gb.pdf

I haven't tried one, but that sounds very interesting. I have a couple of old XL Routes, one of which has a dodgy usb connection, so if it works, I will buy one :)

I bought a TomTom
Go 520....it takes our routes as gpx files but it has drawbacks.
Any way mine became very difficult to load the GPX file....just a faulty TomTom...
I sent it back for a refund.
Linda has a new version and it seems to load routes ok
