Pleased with the design and layout Duncan, though disappointed with the doors. Will sort them out when we’ve more time.

Not a great deal to say on this post other than continuing work on the floor which has turned into another mission. A lot to be said for clicking a few laminate boards together  We’ve got the majority of the floor down now. The borders are cut in and sorted along with a mat well at the front door. The blocks have microbevelled edges and are finished nicely though they are still a pain to lay perfectly so we’ve decided to fill and sand the floor before finishing. Going for a Satin finish hard wax and oil by Fiddes which seems to get reviews and is hard wearing. We’ve got the radiators to connect then the floor can be finished.

Went to Edinburgh to sort some “artwork” for the new hall. Picked up some vinyl with iconic album art to match the intended decor. Binning the discs and cutting the sleeves up  The decor is black and white chequer floor and plaster coloured painted walls. Leave it to you to work out the albums! They are off being framed currently with white mounts and black frames.

A couple of camera phone shots from Edinburgh The second shot is a slightly different angle, I’ve also removed the bus stop and people using AI.

You could have framed the albums with the discs inside, it seem sacrilege to destroy them. Westlife Greatest Hits and the Spice Girls?

Nice view of the castle, looks as forbidding as Colditz!

Thought about it Duncan, if they were of the period I would have done, but they are brand new and readily available for not too much money and will never be of any value. I’ve found a good home for them so they won’t be wasted. Three out of the four are what I would call iconic album art, though it’s not music I’d have listened to back in the day. The fourth is an iconic group that’s been going since the seventies and the cover compliments the others.

One last clue.. it’s not S Club 7..

Not our finest hour.. long story short, had to cut into the floor because of a failed joint. Quite the demotivator to be honest, anyway found the problem, replaced with compression fittings repairing the floor and more pressure testing currently. Spent today chiselling out the parquet so new can be inserted.

The house sale has also been problematic with a surveyor covering his bum. Gotta shoot down and install a party wall in the loft. Got to stick in a building notice as it has to be done in line with regs. Hopefully won’t hold up the sale which we are hoping to complete by the end of April.

Another version of Edinburgh Castle

You have to install a new wall in the loft that has never existed while you've been there! The world has gone mad!

Yep, only been there 34 years.. Apparently mortgage companies insist on it as it acts as a firewall. It need to be fire resistant for 60 minutes. I think I’d be long gone way before that if a fire broke out.

The album art is done, well pleased with them though favourites are the banana and Sparks cover. They will be going on a plaster coloured wall with a black and white chequer floor, so chosen more for the colours than music.

Me too, I can't imagine many fires start in the loft and spread downwards

The covers look good, if you fancy adding another superb cover consider King Crimson In the Court of the Crimson King or Yes Tails from Topographic Oceans
