Another viewing tomorrow, a few more jobs done in between a bit of togging at Sheffield Park Gardens and a trip to Hull to pick up a trailer. Decent secondhand box trailers seem to be as rare as rocking horse … either total crap or buy new and pay full whack. Limited to 2000kg with the Yeti. Decided on a Debon 1300kg trailer as the twin axle 2000kg version seemed a bit overkill. Found a nearly new one in Hull and saved a big chunk on a new one. Tows superb and no impact on the travel time.

Dressed the home office with a few bits from eBay, some doors hung and a bit more oak shelving and draining boards in the kitchen.

Thanks both. Last push on jobs as we need to get back up north and crack on.
Picked up the house plaque when I grabbed the trailer. Finally got it in situ over the weekend. Pleased with it. The wall recess had been waiting 22 years! Nice to finally fill the hole.

Back up north. Started doing a bit of dismantling, saving some slate and stone. All a bit knackered tbh so awaiting delivery of an excavator this week to lash into the rest of the outbuilding and clear the site. Also working on the huts to get them up and running as the lodge isn’t really habitable. Water supply and electric almost there. Just gotta get a plan for the waste side of things.

On the house selling front, estate agent is a waste of time, not helped by Lizzie’s cluster fook. Gonna let it run its course with current agents and either take it off the market or try another in the new year.

Gotta ‘new’ door for the Yeti after hitting the old one with Swmbos car

We’re pretty steady tbh Duncan, we won’t have any trouble with sweat rashes  Slow day today, a tip run and a trip to screwfix for a cement mixer and underground drainage. Did a bit of a detour around the Cheviots, dipping back into England. A few other odd jobs done. Excavator was a no show, maybe tomorrow.

Excavator delivered last week. Had some driving lessons with Google and YouTube  . First day or so was pretty sketchy. Still have some “moments” slipping in and out of the consciously competent/incompetent zones. Digging level and straight trenches and the finer side of operating will be a challenge.

Grab lorry coming today, praying he doesn’t ask me to help load up! Then clear the site a bit more, dig a soakaway hole and some drain trenches.
