Should be along to watch the action. £12 for admission isn’t a lot for a days racing. All the best with the preparations Jay.

Hi Jay,
I can't make the 12th, shame I'd liked to come along. Hope all goes well and the weather is kinder than your first event.

Brilliant Jay and you might catch the heat wave which will present its own problems but surely better than oil and rain

I will try and get a pass for the day. :?

So saturday 12th may was race day number 2

Got to the track nice and early to get signed on and car scrutanered. This time no problems so was good to go.
First was quali weather was good and the track was dry so with my new found confidence i had a top ten in my head.
We headed out and dont want to blow my own trumpet but i was flying. I kept an eye on the lap timer so i could gauge how i was doing.
With quli finished we all got taken to park ferme to be weighed. All was good so of i went down to my pit to be told i qualifyed 6th out of 20 with a lap time of 56.625.
Epic over joyed is an under estimation for everyone involved.

Race 1 come upon us, i was starting on the outside of row 3 so my plan was just stay on the outside for the first 2 corners and i should stay out of trouble, well i did just that untill graham hill bend. As i was entering a bmw m3 was spining across the middle of the track so i had to avoid by going onto the grass loosing a few places. Never the less i pushed on hard on a now damp track with dry tyres and started to gain on the others again. Then as i went around paddock the leader was in the gravel after he had rolled it on the gravel. The marshals decicided to send th sc out whilst they recoverd dan fishers ruined civic type r. When the safety car went in i managed to stay with the cars infront whilst pulling out a gap to another type r behind me. A well planned out over take see me finish in 7th overall and 2nd in my class meaning i get a shiney cup.
Totally chuffed with that.

Race 2 was a tad differnt it was a wet race again or was it damp or was it dry or even a slightly dring wet track. The dicission for what tyres seemed imposible so with 5 mins to spare the dicision was dry tyres beacause if the track gets a dry line all will be good as most were on full wets. The result started 7th as of previous race finish then down to 14th then back to 11th were i finisded and 4th in class. There was another safety car in this race which didnt help my cause of getting heat into the tyres. About 5 laps from the end the tyres just switched on and i managed to close to the car infront rapidly on every lap but the laps ran out leaving me in 11th.
If im hounest im so pleased with everything from the weekend the other racers came to say how suprised how quick i was, think even the comentator didnt expext it as he mentioned a couple of times how old my car is. So there it is.
Roll on the 9th/10th june were i have a single race at the american speed fest meeting.
Hears the proof
