Re: Collecting the Zeus

Some updates on the Zeus.

Exhaust can is with Kev at Zero Exhausts to refill the wadding and to make a new Oval can to try and get the current static noise test down from 108dB. Hopefully it will get under 100dB.

I've been able to reconfigure the Motec dash using a very expensive CAN to USB connector and have now also got a Ethernet to Life ECU connector.

New Varley battery fitted and the car now starts first press of the button even from cold, which is pretty impressive given what it is, starts and then idles at 2000rpm even from cold.

The whole car is off shortly to get the Roll Hoop modified the same as the other chassis has been. This is in parallel with getting the ROPS design certified by the MSA. Currently getting someone to draw up the other chassis' ROPS so we can present that the the MSA for an homologation number, once we have that the chassis can go to MIRA to be deflection tested. Assuming it passes we then get a certificate from the MSA for the ROPS. I can then get my Zeus (chassis number 3) scrutineered for a MSA Vehicle Passport. At which point the car will be MSA legal.

Hopefully this will all be done by the time I'm back on two feet in May.

The silencer was pretty empty of wadding so Kev from Zero Exhausts very kindly came and took it off the car. He is going to repack it and make me a better, oval, silencer which will fit the space as well.

I bet you can’t wait to get back in the car Jeff, ok a slight understatement I suppose !!!
Don’t rush back though Jeff, you need to be 100% to get back in the drivers seat, then you can enjoy.
Looking forward to seeing this stunning car on the track.
Mirror, Signal go faster pedal !!
