Had an update from mate today about it, so sure you will be back on the rd soon and glad you decided to keep another Pinto going for a bit longer.

Re: Bromley Pageant 17
Finally think we've turned a corner
Matt come over tonight to fine tune the car, re checked Timing as the car had a cough on acceleration the tiger would cough and then pick up,
Checked valve clearances. checked the twin 45's cleaned out the jets they were a bit blocked then balance up the carbs.
Cleaned up the dizzy cap
Took it for a run up the road seamed to running ok, until I hit 3500revs then it coughed,
Then tried to figure out what to do next started to make a shopping list
New HT leads
New dizzy cap and rotor arm
Then Matt said what about the rev limiter, as far as I'm aware it's never worked. So removed it off the coil and Took it for a spin up the road wow what a difference No cough, No splattering, running smooth going quite well, but still running in
( I have to keep on telling myself)
Still going to replace HT leads, dizzy cap rotor arm and coil as terminal was brittle
Thanks again Matt
