I'm sure you can shave a good 30 min's off that.
Worth noting that Norfolk police are running an anti speeding campaign at the moment :o

Got out for a local-ish test drive last night. Still some balancing of the brake bias to be done, but should be able to sort before Saturday. Gave the car some beans out of a t-junction and a rad hose popped off, spraying coolant everywhere. After I'd stopped and worked out what had happened, calculated that there was maybe enough coolant remaining to limp home. Made it back without permanent damage - fingers crossed. :?

If the circuit is around 3 miles, that straight must be about a mile long. Should be able to get to terminal velocity! :D

Go easy on that straight. The straight at the end of the MIRA test track is a real engine killer for the rally cars as they spend most of it bouncing off the rev limiter!

That is a stupidly long straight! 1.87km / 1.16 miles - could easily reach top speed. I try retain some degree of mechanical sympathy though - that straight is the perfect scenario to melt my DIY mapped engine. :?

David/Chris - you guys meeting up en-route? I believe the briefing is at 08:30 and I plan to get there for 08:00. I think I'll go M25 via Dartford Crossing as if I leave at 05:00 I should get across the river before Dart charge kicks in. Meeting up is going to be a bit difficult as I'll be 1.5+ hours in to my journey when our paths are likely to cross. I won't have a radio with me.

No I won't be aiming for terminal velocity on the straight, anything above 90 is pretty unbearable!

Planing on meeting at: Whittlesford Service Station, Pampisford, Cambridge CB22 4HD for 6:30, it's about 1 1/2 hours from Marham, let me know if you want to meet?
Also planning on fueling up at Esso A10, Bexwell, Downham Market PE38 0AD

Chris, my plan is to meet you at that first service station. I've currently got a brake fluid leak. Hopefully I can get it sorted before tomorrow.

OK Chris - the A505/A1301 intersection yeah.
Well if I leave mine at 5:00am then google recons I could be there any time between 6:25 and 6:50. I'll make it a waypoint for me, so might just see you there with a bit of luck - but don't wait around for me.

David - where's the leak from?! Hope you get it sorted mate.

See you tomorrow!

As part of fitting new pedal box, inc. master cylinders, I've had to connect to the existing brake plumbing. Obvioulsy this means lots of fitting of unions and tee pieces, new to new and new to old. As you can expect, fitting to the old is sometimes troublesome and a right pig working with a flaring tool in a tiny gap between engine mount, throttle bodies, master cylinders and steering column! Ho hum. Will update later.
