Anyone care for a fantasy wager on this weekends race?
Watched the first quali last night and the Peugeots were rather rapid, for those that haven't been or scratched the surface......
the track is approx 8.5 miles long and the Peugeots were lapping around the 3min 20 mark, all 4 of them quicker than the works Audi Team, with the 3 Astons running 8,9,10th. So in theory the only thing to get in their way is reliability ( bearig in mind 2 of them managed to hit each other 1 hour into last years race in the pits anything is possible with that bunch! ).
Anyway for a bit of fun here's my fantasy bet.
P1 = Peugeot ( no shock there )
P2 = Pescarolo
GT1 = Aston DBR9, looks like it'll hold off the non works Vettes although may tussle with the Ford GT.
GT2 = Corvette
Side bets
Mansell non finisher, the 3 women driving one of the Ford GT cars will park it badly somewhere and blame someone else and 'Dancing Trev' (in house joke ) will begin his moves circa 00.30.
Place your bets folks, it should be a belting race, especially GT2.

That's a bit harsh - now if you'd said ....will stop every 15 minutes to ask directions

I suggest we slip Marks sat nav into the pugs and they will never find their way back to the pits

Or just make Mark drive - in which case every time it went into the pits it would have a new engine, gearbox, paint job, seats etc etc

pal of mine went to the Indy 500 last year, a good pal of his has the rights to do a film about one of the old school drivers, can't recall which one - no matter. Anyway as a result he was able to get to talk to a number of 'faces' and visit 'backstage' - apparently one of the famous guys from a few years back used to pray for the safety car to come out so that he could spark a fag up and have a quick puff for a lap or 2!
anyway Matt, who's your money on?
