So for those of you do not already know the National Kit car show previously held at Stoneleigh is being relocated to the three countries showground at Malvern Worchestershire WR13 6NW (probably permanently) this year being on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th June.
For myself this makes a longer journey of over 3 and half hrs dependant on route but i would still like to make the effort of a Saturday / Sunday run / stop over including camping, and a few beers.
i have been contacted to see if SKCC want a stand as usual including a approx amount of cars expected.
i know it is early in the year but as the new site is apparently smaller than Stoneleigh it is wise to get our foot in the door, so i will probably get the form returned guessing at some numbers but also hoping beyond hope that a few would like to give the new site a go that includes free entry for kit car drivers once again, with apparently better facilities as shown in the pasted letter below.
--------
Dear Clubs,
Please find attached the booking forms for both Kit Car shows for 2023. I know some of you may already know that we have moved Stoneleigh to The Three Counties Showground at Malvern on the 3rd & 4th June 2023. We have taken the decision to do this for several reasons and I believe that with the facilities being kept in great order it will make the whole event a great deal more enjoyable. We will be having 2 AGM rooms for clubs to hold their annual meetings if they wish to do so. The costs of running the event are less than Stoneleigh so we are pleased to announce that all kit car drivers get FREE daily entry to the show. Camping prices are listed in the brochure for kit car drivers. All clubs will receive 2 passes for free access all weekend and camping to get your club equipment in, etc.
We will be running a best-presented club competition (not based on number of vehicles, but on presentation of your club site) with £250 per event being given to Addenbrookes Children’s Charity and £250 being donated to a charity of the winning club’s choice, kindly sponsored by XCS Designs. The winning club receives a perpetual trophy and the option to have a prime spot at the following year’s event! Marquees can be erected on any club site, and you will be able to camp on any of these sites if you wish to do so, although we have a designated camping area and I do prefer the club sites to be occupied by club cars and not tents. On the Saturday evening we will have live music and a bar for your enjoyment and hopefully, being in June, the weather will be glorious!
As for Newark we will be running the event on the 22nd & 23rd July 2023 with the same format as Malvern and would love to see your support at this event as well.
I have also included the adverts for this year’s events. If you have social media or forums you would like to share them on then please do so, and if you have a club newsletter or magazine, could you let me know the cost of advertising for those publications, please.
If you have any questions please drop me an email or give me a call. I do have my first event of the year this week but will be catching up on my emails when I get time in the evening.
Regards
Pete Slater

Late call but is anything happening for the show via the group? Been off grid for a while for various reasons but back up and running now. MOT’d yesterday so happy bunny!
Looking to head up Saturday anyway but if there’s a group run, even better...

Re: National Kit Car Show 2023, Malvern Worchestershire
So for those that are interested myself and Colin did as arranged travel to the show together starting out leaving A20 Sidcup area at 7 in our cars all packed up with camping gear, club banner, cooking and food stuffs and a few beers, sat navs and two way radios.
My sat nav said 163 miles and just over 3 hrs and Colin’s had well over 4 hrs, so Colin followed me initially despite his telling him to come off at every opertunity (later sorted by him giving his Tom Tom a stern talking to ).
So we had a break after 100 miles for me to top up and cracked straight on as the sun broke through as we tackled the motorways and A roads getting smaller as we went till we finally arrived about 9.40, with a brisk check on the gate and pay for camping that I had forgotten to do unlike Colin but both got our wrist bands,we had a bit of fun finding the right plot as the one shown on the map said SKCC was Shropshire kit car club on the actual stake in the ground, but third time lucky and we soon had our banner and tents set up and valuables tucked away and went for a stroll to see what’s what.
The site is probably 1/3 the size of Stoneleigh so still a fair size, pitches all roped off and labelled with a fair number of cars onsite either from the night before or earlier to arrive than us.
There was a bmx display set up outside that did shows during the day, plenty of snack and drinks, ice cream and part suppliers units outside.
There was also a passenger ride experience round a fair size course where you appeared to get 4 laps for £15 in an exoskeleton car that seemed good value.
There were 3/4 brick built toilet blocks with HOT and cold water, clean sinks and toilets and working showers.
There was one main display building with attached toilets where all the manufactures and parts stands were located as well as the two main kit car mags.
The shows certainly filled up with people through the day and Sunday, there is a event’s marquee next door that was not used presumably due to lack of support this year but would certainly add to the show if this could happen in the future.
Myself and Colin were joined by matin and Mike at the show, we did not actually see Martin but did have a natter with Mike (flying tiger ) on Saturday.
We joined Barry and friends on the Westfield stand area after we had fish and chips from one of the venders that stayed open late, had a few beers and swapped stories as usual, for which we were very grateful.
Had the usual disruptive nights sleep that is camping, Colin managed to sort the breckie out on my iffy stove and the coffee was flowing.
We had a wander round on Sunday as both new cars and some that disappeared over night came back before departing for the run home at about noon on Sunday again in lovely sun.
All in all an enjoyably show that will benefit from a few more manufacturers and trade stands and of course cars and actives to get involved or look at.
I certainly intend to make the trip next year.
