I think it came as a surprise to Heather Calder (the Gould with rocker failure) and Stuart Rob (V10 Pilbeam with wing failure) as much as it did to me with the pushroad failing.

That really must have been scary, I hope it didn't cause too much damage!

A pair of new pushrods and a new front driver side tyre to replace the new tyre which was down to the wire.

What about the Pilbeam Jeff? That was also a very fast off and very sideways! Just tyres and underwear damage too?

New wing on the Pilbeam. Stuart was very lucky not to hit anything. He was out at Anglesey with me, the Calders car has not re-appeared yet.

I drove through Folly at 160-170mph trying to figure out why the scuttle didn't line up with the horizon and then braked after Avon Rise to see a large amount of smoke coming off the tyre. I thought I had a nearside front puncture.

Just taking it gently then 8-)

I'm glad it didn't cause too much damage at least.

When I got out of the car (drove it back to the pits) I could put by foot under the drivers side front wheel. Amazing how stiff these chassis are.
