What a top day it was. Good to see everyone having fun irrespective of their experience or their wheels. Good mixture of metal tool to have a look at while the car cooled down.

Interesting mix of cars, met some nice people on the day too. To be fair to the chap in the yellow car was sharing the day with his Dad who was “just having a go”. I said to him I didn’t think his brake lights were working out on track, turns out that they were and he was going so slowly he “just didn’t need them”. Bless. They were nice chaps though and lent Mrs W a full face lid so she could have a passenger ride.

I’ve loads of pictures to sort though thanks to Mrs W but I’ve a couple below including one of my car post grass cutting on (and off) the back straight. If you’re not spinning you’re not trying- right? :D

Agreed top day/trip. Must post a longer review later. Got back yesterday evening and today marshalling at Farnborugh Motor Club sprint. Only just catching breath.

Neil, sorry to hear of your car woes. And it was running so flawlessly on track. Hope you get to the bottom of it quickly.

Another possibility is the HP pump not working at load (when it needs to work harder). But first, I need to buy new HT leads as he could only change 2 of the 4 (all he had on the van). He tested the other 2 and he said they seemed ok but a reasonably cheap attempted fix.

The AA guy was really hacked off he couldn't fix it - he's given me his private number and wants me to tell him what the problem was when I've fixed it :)

surely the pump works at 'x' rate whatever the load, its just how much the engine uses or returns to the tank ( if its injection)

Hmm, yeah that sounds plausible...

Jeff, I've only got a filter at the LP pump and then a swirl pot...

That would make sense as the cornering forces may have dislodged some old residue in the tank.

I suggest you check/replace the one on the car and fit a HP filter as well. It maybe that the HP pump has gone bad, what does the fuel pressure gauge say?
