Re: Nurburgring
just found my video - I think it was closer to 10 minutes but I don't really know where to start the timer from - there were speed restrictions at the beginning.
one very very nervous drive - I was buzzing when I got back - it went all downhill from there onwards (for someone else that is)

DJ. wrote:I have read the horror stories on Pistonheads, and definitely wouldn't do one of their open for all days. The ridiculous range of circuit knowledge and vehicle performance will inevitably lead to accidents.
As a first time driver, I suspect I would spend more time looking in the mirror watching for approaching bikes and 911s (doing more than twice my speed) than looking forwards, so I can't imagine it would be much fun
It isn't normally the Bikes or 911, it is the local nutters in 3 series Beemers or Golf GTis you have to watch for. The stress of the first 5-10 laps is not knowing where the track goes and trying to stay out of everyone else's way. 10-20 laps is where you start to think you know the track and start to push, often with expensive consequences.

Normally it is Bridge to Gantry (BTG) on Tourist days. You where 11min 40 ish.

Despite the horror stories, still looks darn fun...was that a turbo or supercharger whistle, or just wind noise?

Yup, sorry, I've been timing others from the wrong place...

Re: Nurburgring
It is certainly fun but can be expensive (and life changing).
