Covered for now Jeff. Just thinking ahead and maybe nothing will come of it anyway! Can lay bets though that if I buy the wrong lid now Ill want to have a crack at a sprint and then have to buy another lid!

Probably take a run up to Merlin on Saturday.....

Nick wrote:Hi Mouldy, if you look at the play skool website they do snell lids for £149.99.

They have to be the best priced around. I am sure jeffw with his motorsport connections
may know a better deal elsewhere.

The playskool stuff gets some good reviews and is real value for money.

If you're not familar with the company they are run by Nick Algar who was british sprint champion for the past 2 years and his son Luke, they should be able to sort you out and advise on what does and doesn't comply with the Blue Book.

Nick is also on the Advisory panel of the MSA for sprinting and is the Competition Secretary for the Westfield Speed Series.

They are definatly cheap @ 130 squids. However my experience of lids is I really need to try them on and County Durham is a long way from Southampton. I know I could do it mail order but thats a real PITA, can see me sending back two or three and not getting anything at the end of it!

When I got my bike lid I found that Shoei lids fitted me but Arai's don't and t was the reverse for the Mrs. Hence the trip to Merlin because they have different manufacturer's in stock.

Totally agree, any purchase of safety equiptment should be based on it's fit and comfort and not the price.
