James and I went to Top Gear Live at the Excel centre on Saturday. Was interesting with lots of stunts in the live show with the 3 Egos. They also had a racetrack setup like the Race of Champions (expect smaller) with various people (Tiff, The Stig, Sabine and so on) competing against the clock in various cars (Group B, Pikes Peak 405, F1 Stock Car, R500 and so on). They also had a Rotax Kart race with Freddie Hunt (who looks and sounds like his dad), Jolyen Palmer, Nick Hamilton, Mark Blundel's son, Martin Brundles son & Jack Brabham's grandson. Freddie Hunt won by quite a margin.
Good fun but I'm not sure I would do it again and I'm not sure the Gold tickets where worth the £150 for the pair.

Re: TopGear Live
You've made me feel old Jeff, realising that I'm well and truly into second/third generation drivers now! Not done Top Gear Live, but I get a bit peaved with Autosport Intl these days. Long time ago (when I was watching the fathers, not the sons/grandsons ) paying for the Live Arena was an added extra. Now, it's part of the price as standard. And, they can keep it to be honest. Although, it doesn't cost as much as your Gold tickets anyway, so I guess I'm still quids in.

Re: TopGear Live
sounds better than last years show.....went with James to Earls Court and wandered around the arena killing time til the TG shows started......what a let down. Lame jokes, no add libs, couldnt wait to get home - albeit £70 lighter for the ticket.
Have to say wouldnt bother again, but then being a grumpy git my interest in the TV show is way less than it was a season or two back. They need to release teh dwarf for Xmas duties and not have him back as a starter.

Re: TopGear Live
Sorry to hear that the show was not that good but they have been doing the same stuff for some time now and getting away with it.
Should TG be axed and a new show with new ideas be on air.
