Quick Hello.

Hello everyone.
I am new completely new kit cars / Se7en type car but hooked on the idea since having a few rides in my mate's Caterham; plus they're are one of the few machines that fit in my TINY garage. Sadly I don't have a car yet but thought is would be good and helpful to join SKCC to meet local, like minded, experienced people.
We moved house last year and I am now in the position where I don't really need a second car - I work in London and can walk to the station. This has created the potential for me to get fun toy but it comes with its own constraints.
We have a dated house that needs some serious work (= cost) and I have two young children - 6 week and 3 years old. The challenge that comes with whatever I might buy, is being conscious of money, in that it needs to be fairly depreciation resilient. Basically, modernising old houses and having young children does have a habit of creating unexpected costs so I need the potential to sell the toy (hopefully not!) without losing too much money. E.g. a Boxster S with its IMS bearing issues and £550 road tax is not an option - plus the afore mentioned small garage
It appears that used cars like Furys, Tigers, Westies, Caterhams etc. don't depreciate too heavily, so long as you buy at the right price in the first place. I guess low supply and enthusiast following gives them some sort of inherent value.
Car wise I'm looking for a fun road going/road legal car, that fits in the garage, mainly for fast-road and SKCC type meet-ups but also occasional track use (est. twice a year). I suspect that 170-180bhp would be more than sufficient given in something that weighs under 700kg given that an S1 Elise weighs c.730kg, apparently has 118bhp, 122lb ft of torque and good for 0-60mph circa. 6 secs. Caterham's seem to pricey for me unless I want 8v Vauxhall engine and even then, they're not cheap. Westies look ok but prices still can get a little high for my budget. I recently joined the Tiger Owners group to learn more about those and hopefully you guys can give me your thoughts and experiences on other options too.
Anyway that's enough about me and my first world problems!
Regards.
Mike
